Since 2022, park usage in Magnolia has increased by 124 percent, reflecting steady improvements, expanded amenities, and a growing interest in our community’s outdoor spaces.
Eastside Park Improvements
Over the past three years, approximately $1.8 million has been invested in Eastside Park through various funding sources, including the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT), Arkansas Parks, Heritage and Tourism, the City of Magnolia, and the Magnolia A&P Commission.
Since 2022, the park has added a splash pad, a skate park, eight pickleball courts, resurfaced basketball courts, and new playground equipment. These improvements have expanded opportunities for recreation and made the park more accessible and functional for families, youth, and community groups, contributing to the overall increase in park usage.
Looking ahead, additional enhancements are planned for Eastside Park this year. These include the installation of new swings, a fence around the basketball court, new goals and rims, and the development of a walking track to further improve safety, durability, and overall user experience.
These updates are intended to improve safety, longevity, and overall functionality.
South Side Park Updates
Investment has also continued at South Side Park. In 2025, the Magnolia Junior Charity League raised $30,000 to support improvements to the basketball court. Other upgrades are currently being explored as part of ongoing efforts to enhance park facilities across the community.
Taking Pride in Our Parks
As park usage continues to grow, so does the importance of caring for these spaces. Public parks are shared assets, supported by public funding and community partnerships. Respecting facilities and reporting damage when it occurs helps ensure these improvements can be enjoyed for years to come.
The growth in attendance since 2022 demonstrates that thoughtful investment in public spaces makes a difference. Continued care and community pride will help Magnolia’s parks remain welcoming and well-maintained for everyone.
